USA Wrestling: Jordan Burroughs wins World Championship

Jordan Burroughs brought home the gold medal for the USA wrestling team at the 2011 World Championships at Istanbul, Turkey. Check out his gold medal match at this link.

All-time Records added

Be sure to check out the Falcon Wrestling “All-Time Records” section recently added to the website. The program has been blessed with many great wrestlers and teams throughout its rich history.

Summer Info

Summer wrestling camp is coming up soon. On June 4-5 we will have the Foundation Wrestling clinic featuring Purler Wrestling Academy. The clinic is for incoming 7th-12th graders and will run from 9:00-4:00 each day.

June 6-9 will be our regular Falcon Wrestling Camp. K-6 from 3:30-5:00 and 7-12 from 5:30-7:30. Cost is $35 per wrestler ($10 off each additional wrestler) and includes a camp t-shirt.

Week of Jan 3rd

This week will be a busy one for the Falcon wrestlers. Both varsity and jv will be at Mahomet on Tuesday, 1/4 at 5:30 and at St. Joe-Ogden on Thursday, 1/6 at 6:00. Varsity will be at Princeton on Friday and Saturday for a two-day tournament. Wrestling will begin at 4:30pm and 9:00am, respectively. The JV will be at the LeRoy Tournament on Saturday. Wrestling begins at 9:15am.

First half update

The first half of the GCMSF wrestling season is completed. We finished with a 5-5 dual meet record and also took 2nd place at the Plano Tournament and 4th place at Clinton.

Litchfield Duals

GCMSF varsity will be heading to Litchfield High School on Saturday, Dec 4 for the Litchfield Duals. Wrestling begins at noon and we will wrestle 5 teams (in no particular order): Litchfield, Porta, Waterloo, Pickneyville, and Auburn. It is about a two and a half hour trip from Gibson City.

JV wrestlers will be staying back to help at the Falcon Funfrawl Kids Club tournament. They need to report to the GCMS High School gym at 8:30am.
